(Yajur Veda, 36.17)
“O God, may peace be in the Sky, peace in Outer Space, peace on Earth, peace on Water, peace for the Plants, peace for the Trees, all gods be in peace, peace for Almighty, peace for all and only peace. May peace always come to us.”
Mantra has an important role in making a peaceful life & harmony for human being; for outer & inner self (bhuwana alit/microcosm & bhuwana agung/macrocosm). Particularly the above Śānti-mantra that very much influence both for the reciter himself and its surrounding.
In ancient time people used the power of mind to pray. They did not let their mind empty of prayers. The unblocked mind and drove it into prayers should be a dangerous enemy for self (anātmanas tu śatrutve).
On the other hand, the mind filled with prayers for the sake of other goodness & well-being will be purified and yet become a very good friend for self (bandhur ātmātmanas tasya).
The mind purified through prayers for others welfare has a great power to change the "direction of world clock". It enables the impossible into --- possible things to happen. (01)
