King Triśaṅku devoted himself to Maharṣi Viśvāmitra. He served Maharṣi Viśvāmitra's family when they were left for long reclusion, practising penances in an isolated place in the Himalayas. He sincerely and diligently served food and other things to the Maharṣi’s family. Coming home from his reclusion, Maharṣi Viśvāmitra saw that his family was doing well and not lacking anything. He became very happy for the service carried out by King Triśaṅku. Maharṣi Viśvāmitra immediately held a yajña, a ceremony to lift King Triśaṅku to the heavenly planet, Svarga-loka.

All types of offerings were made and fulfilled in accordance with the required holy scriptural rules and regulations. The mantras were pronounced correctly and properly supported with the holy power and austerities carried out by Maharṣi Viśvāmitra. But what happened? The gods apparently refused to accept these perfect offerings, because the purpose of the offerings was contradictory to the natural law and God's law. The gods cannot accept all of these because the gods are bound to be loyal to God's laws that have been set for the material world, including the heavenly realms.

Seeing his offerings being rejected by the gods, eventually, Maharṣi Viśvāmitra chose to use his spiritual power to lift up King Triśaṅku. And ..., not long after Maharṣi Viśvāmitra began to use his spiritual power, King Triśaṅku then rose up to the gate of the heavenly realm. The gods in heaven led by Lord Indra had long before guarded the gates of heaven. As soon as he saw King Triśaṅku flying and smiling happily towards them, Indra pushed King Triśaṅku with his feet, and King Triśaṅku fell back down to the earth.

Maharṣi Viśvāmitra immediately used his spiritual power to hold back the body of King Triśaṅku. Stuck between Heaven and Earth, King Triśaṅku begged for Maharṣi Viśvāmitra's help.

Not wanting to fail in fulfilling his promise to King Triśaṅku, finally, Maharṣi Viśvāmitra created a new Heaven and placed King Triśaṅku in the new Heaven as a rival to God Indra. The dream of King Triśaṅku was fulfilled to go to Heavenly planet Svarga-loka with his material body. (02)
